Learning Online
Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE offers innovative, creative online learning solutions. Learning online is fun, convenient, flexible and brings education to your home and workplace. You will gain skills in how to use technology as a tool for learning, communicating and collaborating.
We have extensive experience in supporting online learners. Our facilitators (teachers) interact with you as you work your way through your course; providing guidance, encouragement and practical advice. They assess your competency along the way and provide feedback on your work to enable you to learn effectively online.
Through the Learning Management System (LMS) students can also gain access to wikis, blogs, forums, chat, email and other useful tools. Our LMSs provide greater flexibility in the way students undertake training and enable us to reach more students across the state.
Currently the Institute has courses running on two software platforms: Online@SCT and my.TAFE. (The institute is transitioning all Online@SCT courses across to my.TAFE over the coming year.)
When you enrol, the information pack you will be given will inform you whether you will be logging on to Online@SCT or my.TAFE. If you are not sure, please contact your facilitator/teacher.
Don't worry; you will be given appropriate information on how to use the online environment!
