Pathways with University
If you haven't had the opportunity to enter university direct, Sunshine Coast TAFE can help you on your way to a Bachelor degree. Likewise, if you have completed part or all of your university education, but need practical hands-on training to land the prefect job, a qualification from Sunshine Coast TAFE will complement your degree.
Sunshine Coast TAFE has articulation agreements with the University of the Sunshine Coast and the University of Southern Queensland that will give you direct access or credit for your existing TAFE Qualification.
Advantages of university pathways include:
- Entering a university degree program after completing a diploma without reapplying through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC)
- Enrolling in a dual award program that allows you to study concurrently at Sunshine Coast TAFE and at a university, or complete some qualifications at Sunshine Coast TAFE and then go on to study at university to finish a degree. In many cases, this may reduce the cost of your education
- Acquiring multiple qualifications at diploma and degree levels.
Through recognition of prior learning, this linking, or articulation, creates a seamless pathway to higher qualifications. Through recognition of prior learning and articulation, Sunshine Coast TAFE can support you through seamless pathways with USQ and USC. Other universities may also recognise our qualifications, however you should contact your preferred university about credit transfer arrangements.
University of the Sunshine Coast – Dual Programs
Sunshine Coast TAFE and University of Sunshine Coast (USC) offer a range of dual qualifications – providing you with a dual diploma and degree qualification
These programs are generally three years and incorporate your first year of study at Sunshine Coast TAFE and the remaining two years at University of the Sunshine Coast. Not only to these programs offer a perfect combination of practical hands-on training and academic study, you may also reduce the cost of your overall program.
Dual programs are currently offered in:
- Diploma of Community Services Work/Bachelor of Social Science
- Diploma of Events/Bachelor of Business
- Diploma of Fitness/Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science <
- Diploma of Hospitality/Bachelor of Business
- Diploma of Photoimaging/Bachelor of Arts
- Diploma of Visual Arts (Fine Arts)/Bachelor of Arts
University of Southern Queensland
Study at TAFE and you can have guaranteed entry into a selected program at the University of Southern Queensland. This means you can apply direct to USQ after completing a TAFE diploma or advanced diploma, and you can also apply for credit toward your uni studies to fast track your degree.
